The Strategy: The Nickelodeon Hotel Grand Opening Weekend The 777-unit hotel underwent a $25 million transformation before opening its operation in May of 2005. A former Holiday Inn was rennovated into family- friendly suites, complete with character drawings on the walls, mini kitchens and bunk beds. The property boasts two interactive pool complexes, a kids spa, basketball courts, mini golf course, an adult lounge, a theater, an arcade, a food court as well as kids spa. The Success: Thousands of people desended on Orlando for the opening weekend extravaganza. Guests were treated to character breakfasts, daily room drops of swag, food court coupons, poolside movie nights, spa treatments and a performance by the band Good Charlotte.
